Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of babybrackets.com (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept them. If you don't, please don't use it.

2. What the Service is

Baby Brackets is a free tool for comparing and ranking names. It is provided for personal, non-commercial use. No account is required and we don't charge for it.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service unlawfully, or to enter content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, defamatory or infringing;
• enter other people's personal information into a shared session without their knowledge;
• attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure;
• scrape, automate or resell the Service, or use it to build a competing product.

4. Shared sessions

A shared session is protected only by the secrecy of its link. Anyone who has the link can view the names in that session and add to it. Share the link only with people you intend to have access, and don't put anything sensitive in a session.

You are responsible for the content you add to a session. We may remove content or end a session that breaches these terms.

5. Your content

You keep any rights you have in the names and text you enter. You grant us only the permission needed to operate the Service — to store your content and display it to other participants in a session you've shared. We don't claim ownership of it and we don't sell it.

6. Availability

The Service is provided as-is and as-available. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, and we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Game progress is saved in your own browser rather than on our servers, so clearing your site data or switching device loses it, and session data may be removed.

Keep your own copy of anything you care about. Don't rely on the Service as the only record of your name list.

7. No warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Results produced by the Service are for entertainment and decision support. Choosing a name is your decision alone.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Third-party services

The Service uses Google Firebase for hosting and data storage, Google Analytics for usage statistics, and Google AdSense for advertising. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their processing. See our privacy policy for detail.

10. Children

The Service is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. When we do we'll revise the date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
